Dynamic Checklist

Dynamic Checklist adds process support to Lime CRM. It guides users through your processes step by step, directly on the record they are working with, and automates work along the way — setting field values, creating documents and running actions.

Checklists are created in a visual Checklist Builder, without writing any code, and can range from a simple flow to a tree structure with branching paths. Which checklist a record gets is decided by a related record such as a helpdesktype or dealtype — for example, tickets of type Onboarding get the onboarding checklist.

Features

Use it on any limetype

A checklist can be configured for any limetype, and for as many limetypes as you need. It is typically used on helpdesk tickets or deals to support more complex processes, but it is not limited to those.

Branches

A checklist can branch. The user takes different paths through the process depending on the choices they make, and this is visualised as a tree structure in the Checklist Builder. Examples of branching questions:

  • "Existing or new customer?" — Existing / New
  • "Send confirmation by email or by mail?" — Email / Mail
  • "How does the customer prefer to pay?" — Cash / Card / Invoice

A branching question can have any number of alternatives, and items can be organised into collapsible groups.

Guide the user

Each checklist item can help the user do the right thing:

  • A description with rich text behind a question mark icon.
  • Action buttons the user can press, for example open a link, create a document from a template, run a command or create a related object.
  • Require a note to be written before the item can be completed.
  • Prevent an item from being skipped.

Automate the work

Checklist items can also do work on their own:

  • Set field values on the record when an item becomes the current step or when it is checked.
  • Run actions automatically when an item is checked, for example standard actions or actions built for your solution.
  • Call a custom endpoint in your solution for advanced scenarios.

A builder made for the job

The Checklist Builder lets you switch between editing and a full preview, work in compact or detailed views, zoom and resize, and browse saved versions of a template to see what changed and when. A card component on the template owner (for example a helpdesktype) shows whether a checklist is connected and takes you straight into the builder.

Control who can edit

You decide which groups can create and edit checklist templates, and which groups can open them in read-only mode. See Security.
